Who are our ancestors? Things We Don’t Know about the great apes.

We often hear that Man is a descendant of the apes, but we are, in fact, only cousins with a “common ancestor”. Our family tree has grown quite a few branches over recent years and, although we may not be on the same branch as the great apes, we are not so far away, for we belong to the same extended family which keeps on evolving. Researchers are still trying to understand where we come from, how it was that we started walking upright, when it was that our heads got bigger and who made the first tools.
