Léon’s second life

Léon’s engine coughs, sputters, but won’t start. A shiny new engine replaces it, while Léon is abandoned by the pond. Time passes, season after season. In winter, he shivers under a thick layer of snow. In summer, the faded paint peels off in the sun. When the vegetation has completely covered it, it will disappear forever, alone and useless. However, something awakens Léon: a family of hedgehogs decides to make their home in the shelter of this big machine, then a passerine, then other animals and insects. Life is everywhere. Now that Léon is no longer belching gray smoke, nature’s inhabitants are no longer afraid of him, and feel safe in this big, immobile, welcoming thing. Léon is now the happiest of tractors!
